Updated temporary guidance: Port State Control and the impact of COVID-19
Having previously advised that a period of grace for the delay of surveys, inspections and audits of up to three months would be accepted by Port State Control in the Tokyo MOU region, that guidance has changed to an “appropriate grace period for delaying periods for surveys, inspections and audits specific to COVID-19 given to ship by the flag State Administration and/or Recognised Organisation”.

It should be noted that the reason for any delay beyond three months must be specific to COVID-19.
