CIC – Focusing on Stability in General – Questionnaire now published

The CIC on Stability in General by the Paris and Tokyo MoUs will start on 1 September. The Black Sea, Indian Ocean, Mediterranean, Riyadh and Vina del Mar MoUs will join this initiative, whereby the Caribbean MoU, US Coast Guard and AMSA have their own CIC or local inspection campaigns.

3 crew die in cargo tank

Three crew of the tanker GLOBAL LAKE, including the Captain, died on board in a tragic enclosed space accident. The vessel was cruising around north of Algeria, understood in ballast, after she left Bejaia, Algeria, when the incident occurred 25 Aug.

Fire on Stolt Tankers Vessel

The fire on board Stolt Tankers vessel Stolt Groenland was ignited due to incorrect storage of cargo. The chemical compound stored on the tanker ruptured due to heat and exploded, according to the accident report.
