In a press release on 1 August 2025, the Paris and Tokyo MoUs published the questionnaire for this year’s CIC.

The questionnaire contains ten questions as a checklist to confirm that the vessel complies with the requirements for BWM under the relevant IMO instruments. Negative answers to questions 1 to 6, 9 and 10 may be considered grounds for detention, whereas questions 7 and 8 shall only lead to a non detainable deficiency (see the appendix of the pdf).
