Liberian Registry

The objective is to encourage the adoption of safety procedures aimed at preventing deaths and injuries to personnel entering enclosed spaces on Liberian flagged vessels where there may be an oxygen-deficient, oxygen-enriched, flammable and/or toxic atmosphere.

Investigations of casualties have shown that accidents involving enclosed spaces on vessels are caused by an insufficient knowledge of, or disregard for, the need to take precautions rather than a lack of guidance.
