This amendment shall apply from 1 January 2023, and in the case of ships* with antifouling systems containing Cybutryne in the external coating layer as of the effective date, such antifouling systems shall be removed or covered with a sealer coat deemed appropriate by the Society up to the following (a) or (b), whichever is earlier: (a) 60 months following the last application to the ship of an anti-fouling system containing Cybutryne (b) The next scheduled renewal of the anti-fouling system after 1 January 2023.
