AMSA marine notice 04/2018: High Pressure Fire Fighting Systems – Design safeguards against personal injury
The Australian Maritime Safety Authority (AMSA) has issued a marine notice to inform industry stakeholders about the dangers of working with high pressure fire-fighting systems and the safeguards that may be implemented. This notice was produced in response to a recent incident in which a seafarer suffered a serious injury, whilst conducting routine maintenance work on a high pressure fire-fighting system.
