2020 IMSBC Code Amendments
Amendments 05-19 to the IMSBC Code, which have been in place on a voluntary basis since 1st January 2020, will become mandatory on 1 January 2021.
The table of characteristics for each schedule has been amended and now includes ‘physical properties’ and ‘hazard classification’.
The physical properties of a cargo are recommendatory whereas the hazard classification information is mandatory and must be included in any cargo declaration.
