The detainable items from previous PSC inspections have been
analysed and as a result the list of TOP 18 items has been created.

The majority of PSC deficiencies where issued in
▪ 03xxx - Water/Weathertight condition
▪ 04xxx - Emergency systems
▪ 07xxx - Fire Safety
▪ 10xxx - Safety of Navigation
▪ 11xxx - Life Saving Appliances
▪ 13xxx - Propulsion main engine
▪ 14xxx - Environmental Protection

One or more deficiencies in the above categories may be seen as evidence of a failure of the Safety Management System on board and are likely to trigger a detainable deficiency towards ISM:
▪ 15xxx - ISM related deficiency.

During regular maintenance, the crew needs to focus on verifying operational preparedness and compliance with international requirements.
